Position Overview:

S5 Analytics is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development and deployment of a mission-critical, back-end software application. You’ll contribute across the engineering lifecycle—including requirements analysis, system design, CONOPS development, integration testing, documentation, and customer engagement—while collaborating with software developers and test engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment.

• Active TS/SCI Clearance – Required to support classified government systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM – In Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Linux Expertise – Strong hands-on experience with RedHat systems and command-line operations.
• Scripting Skills – Proficient in Shell (bash/csh), Perl, and/or Python for automation and system tasks.
• Virtualization Knowledge – Familiar with VMware and managing virtual environments.
• Agile & Dev Tools – Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Git in Agile workflows.
• UI/UX Awareness – Basic understanding of user interface principles and usability best practices.
• Geospatial Standards – Familiar with open architectures and geospatial data formats used in DoD/IC systems.
• Strong Communicator – Able to clearly convey technical info to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team-Oriented & Independent – Works well in collaborative settings and takes initiative.
• Remote Systems Experience – Skilled in operating and troubleshooting systems via secure CLI access.

Preferred Skills:

• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline
• Experience with system integration/testing in UNIX/Linux environments
• Proficiency in requirements analysis and Agile development cycles
• Knowledge of statistical methods , Oracle , or open architectures
• Demonstrated leadership, planning, and negotiation capabilities
