If you are a dynamic Civil Engineer and a technical expert in traffic engineering, our client’s Lead Traffic Engineer position may be a perfect next step for your already successful career. The ideal candidate will be a traffic engineering technical leader who will foster business development, write proposals, and serve the company’s existing customer base. Developing strong relationships with clients, contractors, outside consultants, project stakeholders, and government agencies will be a part of your daily activities.

What You’ll Do:

• Align and improve strategic growth with other leaders and managers and take ownership of marketing and business development for the state.
• Design and manage traffic-related projects, traffic studies, planning studies, crash analysis, roadway lighting and other client services.
• Manage and contribute to the writing and production of proposals, serving as a technical expert to project managers and other team members.
• Manage finances for your region and department, allocating resources efficiently, including staffing provision.
• Interview, rate, and hire new employees for your group and the region, and conduct performance reviews.
• Manage additional work assignments as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• Ten (10) or more years of experience in traffic engineering analysis, design, and planning.
• Expertise in design and planning, various applicable traffic engineering software packages, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working on traffic engineering projects with the South Carolina Department of Transportation,
• The ability and desire to take ownership of multiple responsibilities in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• South Caroling Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification is desirable.
