Job Description

Position Summary:

Full time. Rotating shifts and weekends. On-call rotation 3 days per month.

Neil Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Internal Dispensing Pharmacist to join our team. This role is responsible for optimizing medication use and improving patient outcomes through the development and implementation of clinical intervention strategies in our dispensing pharmacy. The successful candidate will also support medication distribution and the preparation of IV admixtures for long-term care facility patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement clinical intervention strategies within the dispensing pharmacy.
  • Educate pharmacy staff and allied health professionals using effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership in addressing significant pharmacy-related issues.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding medication interactions, allergies, dosing, storage, and handling.
  • Review and verify new and refill medication orders for drug interactions, allergies, and duplicate therapies.
  • Respond to drug information inquiries using established formats and evidence-based resources.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of final packaged medication products.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians during the packaging and compounding processes.
  • Monitor medication effectiveness using lab results, vital signs, assessment tools, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports to educate and inform facility staff.
  • Participate in planning sessions and company meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with personnel from other divisions within Neil Medical Group and Hillco.
  • Perform additional duties as required to uphold professional pharmacy practice standards.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree required.
  • Valid pharmacist license in North Carolina.
  • Experience in a long-term care or clinical pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of drug interactions, medication safety, and sterile compounding procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
