Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Certified Public Accountant Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting responsibilities for a multi-entity Family Office, including individuals, trusts, and foundations. This role involves managing financials for various investment portfolios and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial and accounting functions for multiple investment portfolios, ensuring accurate trade processing and accounting.
Maintain accurate books and records for different entities, including handling transaction processing and reporting.
Lead the monthly financial close process and prepare financial statements as necessary.
Research securities within the investment portfolio and address other accounting issues as they arise.
Ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with SEC and prospectus guidelines.
Collaborate with the tax department to support recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison with investment service providers to ensure seamless operations and optimal service.
Develop and implement new accounting processes to streamline workflows, working alongside technology platforms.
Address and escalate exceptions or issues impacting accounting records and valuations.
Contribute to special projects and assignments based on business needs.
Ensure the protection of all personally identifiable information in line with privacy standards and regulations such as HIPAA and Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise the Family Office Investment Staff Accountant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
CPA license required.
5-7 years of accounting experience, with a background in public and operational accounting roles.
Experience in private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund investment fund accounting is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
Organized with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Capable of working independently and making timely decisions.
Excellent organizational skills and a strong ability to multi-task.
Adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
