INDUSTRIAL TOUR, MARCH 2012

Industrial TourThe brimming institute in pharmaceutical sector organized yet another event that added glamour into its feathered cap, this month. AIPER has completed its successful industrial tour which covered an extensive fun learning package for the 3rd year students, culminating cumulatively with visits to tourist specks like Ooty, Mysore and the upcoming metropolis Bengaluru giving chance and exposure to come across the advancement in technology and processes in the Pharma sector.

The tour lasted for 9 days which also included visits to other production sectors like tea manufacturers, in Ooty. Students had a chance to directly interact and study the production of tea, and the different kinds of it under the guidance of Mr.Laikhat Ali, tea plantation guide at High Field tea factory Connor.

The tea industry here works to produce executive class of tea; some medicinal and organic tea products like White tea and Green tea are also produced. Common Spiced tea and other marketed preparations are also made at this plant situated just at the peak of Nilgiris.

The tour extended to visiting historical places in Ooty, as well in Mysore stitching into the Indian history through visiting the Maharaja’s palace and the deity of Mysore over the Chamundeshwari hills.

Students had a chance to interact with the metropolitan city in Bengaluru and  had the privilege to visit some Pharmaceutical giants in the city like Micro Labs Pvt. Ltd and Strides Acrolab Ltd. Students visited two different sites giving them exposure to production procedure of Ophthalmic, Parental and with an insight into production of tablets and dry syrup production at Micro Labs.  Production Manager at Micro Lab’s Ltd. Mr.Mruthyunjaya G. R. took  the students through the whole processing and packaging of products.

The industrial visit extended to visiting Strides Arcolab Ltd. Where the group was welcomed in by Mr.Jayaram B. R. HR head at Strides and inducted the students through the facilities and advancements at the company. The In house production facility was briefed by Mr.AmarapalleSrinivasaRao Manager at Strides Acrolab. He briefed the students through the High end machinery and Soft gelatincaplsule formation sector which is one of the greater field into which the plant is inclined to.  Strides Acrolab also  produces different types of dosage forms and deals in export to countries like USA, Australia, Poland, Italy, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
